Possessive /protective/TOO MUCH!!
I have a terrier he's 9 years old looks like Benji and very possessive and over protective. I recently moved into an over 55 pet friendly apartment building and a lot of people here have dogs. When I sit in the lobby with him if anybody comes over and try to pet him he growls he doesn't bite but he growls and a couple of times he snapped at people. I just assumed it was because they were coming towards me I recently went to Las Vegas for 5 days and left him add Petsmart and the people there said he played with other dogs in the doggie daycare he was very good very well behaved with everybody big dogs little dogs everyone and I'm guessing it's because I was not there he didn't have anybody to protect so how do I control his behavior when he's with me in the lobby of my building he sits on my lap what are you even when he's down on the floor beside me if anybody comes near me he growls I can go near everybody else's dog I can pick them he doesn't like it but he doesnt Corral but if they come near me he immediately starts to growl stand up and become my defender what do I do???

Canine massage is a therapeutic discipline that involves directly working with all of the soft tissues of a dog’s body in order to assist the dog in achieving relief from a variety of physical and emotional challenges, including muscular soreness, chronic stress.
Sadly my 6yr old English Setter has been diognosed with rectal casinoma, he has had a CT scan which shows it has not spread anywhere else but the tumor is 12cm so they cannot operate.Apart from straining, you would think nothing was wrong, at the moment no other outward signs. The vet has given him Previcox as it is said in some dogs it slows down the tumor, also to give him lactolose twice a day. It's been suggested a high fibre diet, to bulk up his stools but still keep them soft and easy to pass. Can you suggest anything else I could do to help him, eg. anything to try and slow down the growth.

Stafforshire terrier or not? What do you think?
We picked up our dog from the local animal rescue a few years back and had to move because of work. We are now trying to find a place to live, in the ongoing dangerous breed era. The shelter said he was a staffordshire terrier, but we do not believe he is staffordshire terrier. We are thinking about going to a local vet and asking them, however if we could get your thoughts about his breed that would definitely help.
Any thoughts to what breed, or mixed breeds my dog might be?
I've recently adopted a new dog from a lady. I have had her now for 3 weeks. She is a very delightful little dog. I have never seen a dog take to a child so well. She instantly bonded with my son. With me too. She gets along great with the other dogs. At first I thought she did not bark at all. But I heard her in the back yard.yet she doesn't bark inside the house. She is supposedly little over a year old. Her teeth are very white. She is wire haired, medium length. Her ears are erected. Her muzzle is in the shape of a wedge. Her face is much darker than her body, except for the touch of white around her nose. Her body is brindle, with white patch on her chest. She also has white booty feet and a tip of white on her tail. She is small. Her chest bone seems to protrude. I have done a ton of research on the web. She looks a lot like a Portuguese Podengo, except for her coloring. Because brindle is not an accepted color for the breed. She also has the strange ring of fur / hair around her neck. Plus the Portuguese Podengo is pretty rare in the U.S. Her vet thinks she is a cairn terrier mix. The lady I got her from, said she was told she was a westie mix. After researching them both. Come to find out that both the cairn and westie are from the same line. According to what I have read. I just don't see the Cairn in her. Or the Westie. Anyone have any thoughts to what she might be? My profile picture is of her.Thank you for your input.zig
