In Cats

I adopted a cat named Callie from creigslist. He didnt tell me how old she was until i looked at her vet records when it said she was turning 11 this coming up december. I didnt care how old she was because she was the sweetest cat. Every night she would lay on my chest or back and fall asleep. Well yesterday afternoon me and her were taking a nap together she was acting normal, perfectly fine even. I left for a couple hours and come home and she was under the bed (which was usual). I go to pick her up and she lets out a low long meow and i thought it was nothing so i continued to head to the living room with her. Then i layed her on the couch and i knew there was something wrong rightaway! She let out the same low meow and went limp. Her breathing was heavy and her mouth was wide open with her tongue to the side. This happened at 5. We put her on a blanket in my room to be more comfy and hope she would ride it out. She was still very limp but she tended to move a little bit i tried making her drink some water and she wouldnt really take it. She pooped twice and moved around then by 8 her breathing dropped dramatically and she would let a distressing low meow out then by 8:30 her breathing was now gasping! She would take one long gasp and wouldn't do it again for multiple seconds and she would make soft meows. By 8:40 she passed. Can anyone tell me what was wrong with my Callie?

Not sure what breed my kittens r pretty interested to no as well

I recently adopted a cat. They seem to be accepting of each other. The problem is my resident cat wont eat in front of the new cat. i have put a bowl of food and water in the basement but its hard to monitor how much hes eating. I am worried about him developing fatty liver diseAse.

My cat just moves to chase a little yarn when we play.  One thing I thought was so cute was when I tied a little to my shoe and walked around the house.  She chased the string all over, and I learned it was a great way to for some indoor fun while its cold outside.  I guess we all get a little cabin feaver:)

We are beside ourselves.  Our perfectly healthy (or so we thought) 9 y/o female cat died suddently Sat night.  I put her down and she ate and drank, then went in to our daughters bedroom with her.  We noticed nothing abnormal.  "TJ" was on the bed responding to our daughter with her normal meow, and a few moments later.....I will describe as our daughter did, since I was in our room ... TJ's hind legs collapsed and she slid off the side of the bed onto the carpeted floor.  She let out some kind of meow and shook. Our daughter grabbed her and ran to our room...she said she could feel her heart beating fast, but by the time she got her to me, TJ was taking her last breaths.  I checked her throat thinking she may have choked, but found nothing....everything happened so fast.  She quit breathing, and I could not feel a heart beat....however, we waited a while to bury her, just in case.  In fact, we were so afraid, we waited until we felt coolness.   She showed NO signs of anything, but looking back now, I remember thinking a few days prior that her face looked fuller.  I am sick over her loss...shocked.  Her coat was beautifully shiney, and she was not overweight.  Inside cat, except, that she did love to sit on the front porch.  She didnt wonder off.  Does this sound like a heart attack?  Did I miss something?  Hope someone has some insight............

Hey everyone, I wanted to start going on a diet and loose a few extra pounds.  Is there a a way I can get more exercise inside of the house?

Hello all, my inside cat got out today and when he came back about 2 hours ago he was walking weird, and now about an 1 hour ago he can't hardly move without yelling in pain. He was laying on my bed and he wanted to jump down, but couldn't, so I layed him down on the floor and he went #2 in the corner of my room. This is HIGHLY irregular for him to do. He then left my room and I found him laying at his litter box, so I picked him up and brought him back to my bed again, he screamed the whole way here.  I don't see any visible marks or blood on him. Can someone please tell me what I should do. Thanks, Jeremy Moffett

Recently my beautiful cat, Superman had to be put down...Ok now you may be asking why this is a question about her death, well here is why. Just a week prior she had been sleeping on my bed and suddenly had a seizure. When I finally got my mother, she thought I was simply mistaken. The next weekend I was with my dad, unable to watch Superman, the night after I got home she had yet another seizure and again my mother thought I was mistaken she also had these drool attacks so to speak, where she would seem to be in a lot pain and spittle would come out of her mouth, she urinated during one of them, I wonder if it was a mini seizure....finally...the next day I came home from school and she had drool all over her chest, she seemed weak...I was terrified. Then my mom came home. Supey was sitting on a chair when suddenly she spazmed and feel off the chair, spinning around the room, out of control, she then collapsed on her side, seizing. My mom witness this in horror, and asked me if this is what had been happening I replied of course with a yes and we took her to the vet. They rehydrated her and took some blood tests. WWe then took her home, with in minute of her arriving home she had another seizure. I was almost crying, I took her up to the bathroom so she would hurt her self in her next seizure. She had two more with in an hour...I walked into the bathroom and stroked her fur...she just sort of stared off, slowly breathing and unresponsive, usually she would be rubbing against me begging for help...It 1 am and my mom decided we needed to take her to the emergency animal hospital....they then told us we had to put her down...I watched my baby die in my arms...The blood tests came back inconclussive, can anyone give me answers?
