My heart is broken right now, because my beloved Theo, "Mr. Kitty", died suddenly today. I ate lunch with a friend and returned three hours later. I played around with my dogs and walked down the hall to my room and saw him lying on the ground. I could tell right away he was dead, because he's the friendliest cat in the world and would always greet me when I walked by him. Sure enough, he wasn't  breathing  and his jaw was locked shut and his legs were stuff. I screamed out for about ten minutes at , I was absolutely hysterical. He was such a wonderful sweet cat. He was only 5 yyears old. He was a strictly indoor cat and was pretty healthy. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what could have happened. He had vomited a few times this year a clear liquid. But this was three three times over the course of a year. His coat had become slightly dull and had begun to collect dandruff, but I attributed it to the fact that he sometimes ate dog food, which he always has done on the sly.  I had switched my cats (I have a another cat, Phoebe) to freeze dried raw food from Stella and Chewys and he loved it, but i suddenly had to switch back to Taste of the Wild due to how expensive Stella and chewys is. He was a strictly indoor cat, in which case I did not take him for his yearly vaccines. So so I am blaming myself for this. I didn't think if he was an indoor cat that yearly shots were really necessary. However now I am not so sure.  I also had given him and Phoebe a Revolve treatment after a couple months off.. I feel like this is all my fault and I could have prevented this. I feel like I am to blame for his death and I just wish I could tell him sorry. I wish I had taken better care of him. I made sure he had fresh water everyday and fresh food. I scratched and brushed him. Maybe I should have played with him more, I just got a puppy and I feel like I neglected him. I am absolutely devastated. I sent him off for a necroscopy so I am anxiously awaiting results to see the exact cause of death. If anyone has any advice for dealing with the sudden death of a pet, I would really appreciate it.

hy guys

Pet owners are looking every day for a loving home they can leave their pets when they travel, someone to visit their cat when they travel, a loving hand to pat or feed. Look no more. We have you covered! We want to make sure no pet is left behind. We are launching an online marketplace to connect pet owners, sitters and borrowers.

Why borrowers?

There are lots of families that do not know the kind of pet that would suit their lifestyle. We want to encourage them to borrow a pet. This way we can encourage more families to take pets into their homes..to adopt one..just like our little one :)

My cat Moxie died out of nowhere today. She has always been really healthy, nothing wrong she was only 3 years old. She never seemed to have any problems and always went to the vet. We are not sure what it was! She just laid down and died. We found her outside just laying on the cement. We have a fairly big house, and a big yard to where she could roam. I've raised her from a kitten And I'm honestly completely destroyed by this. No foam or anything around her mouth. Her eyes were open. What could have happened? Would really like my mind set to ease.

I experienced sudden cat death today. The cat was 4 yrs old. Everything fine this morning but suddenly this afternoon the cat fell over cried the death scream, took 2 breaths and died. Needless to say I was in shock. I did have my vet do a necropsy today.  Wanted to share with others who had no clue like me as to what happened. The necropsy showed that Chico had pale kidneys and a pale looking heart which indicated a lack of blood flow due to multiple blood clots which resulted in a instanteous sudden heart attack,  Hope this helps others. Cat had no previous health issues.

Hi, we got two cats when they were a few weeks old and they have always been very healthy. They are about two years old. Yesterday my family and I went out for dinner for my sisters 13th birthday. Before we left I stroked the cat. He had been lying down in the same place for maybe 2-4 hours but alive and responsive, he did this a lot when he had trapped an animal(He's an outdoor cat) so I thought nothing of it.  We came back 4 hours later and as I went downstairs I saw my cat lying on its side in the corner of the room. I first said hi and he didn't respond, then as went over too him I saw that there was poo and vomit around him. I then looked closer and I saw his eyes were open and his tongue was out the side of his map. My family is very upset. We were wondering what could have happened to him and what we should do about our other cat(his brother) as he seems depressed, we now only see him at breakfast and dinner when we feed him, also whenever we try to pet him he kind of dodges it. After the other cats death he came in 2 hours after we removed the body he smelled and meowed where he last was, he then tried looking for him, it was heartbreaking :(. Does anyone have any suggestions for us, should we get another cat to keep him company, thanks.

  • Just got back from emergency very my cat was treated for seizures with medication till I get him to my local did blood work nothing looked that bad on the way home he passed away. I'm just in shock he was 14 he was fine yesterday what could it have been?

I will keep this short
We had an awful smell in our house and thought it was a dead mouse as we have many traps all over hidden, none of my cats can get to though. We have an outdoor cat that we had spayed so we don't have more kittens. She didn't want out Fri night which was strange but OK as we thought she just was tired. She has been very quite for a few days but still herself. We think sat morning was when she was inside non the less Sunday afternoon we decided to search for her as we haven't heard from her and she's usually wanting out. She kept all the mice/rats at bay. She was an amazing cat.  When we couldn't find her I suddenly said... no no look harder. The smell was getting worse. So back down to basement with flashlights and there she was laying there. FoamING from the mouth. Blood out of her nose. And laying in poop and fluid. The first thing I thought of was she's been poisened. I say this cause we live between farms.  We have a sheep farm which she visits regular and across the hywy where we think she came from. We haven't seen the usual strays that stop by for a quick fight. Just very still and weird here.
Does this sound like she may of eaten poisen that a rat ingested? Please help cause the guilt of not knowing if I could of saved her is killing me. I wish she would of shown us some clues. We could of taken her to our vets. I feel so scared. I have 3 indoor cats too. And a parot. What do I do? Anyone please...

On Tuesday morning of this week, our cat, Flower, died suddenly.  It has been very traumatic for us.  He was nine had been to the vet six months prior and had no symptoms of anything.  He experienced the same morning he always did, with the same energy level.  He bounced around the bed for a while, knocked some stuff off my dresser, the usual.  With no warning, he suddenly cried out, collapsed in a seizure with a little bit of foam at his mouth and was dead in seconds!

My fiancee could not abide an autopsy.  Can anyone help me?  I need to know what likely happened in order to put this behind me.  Any idea what might have happened to him?
